As part of the Their Past Your Future (TPYF) learning programme, a group of 24 students (aged 16-18 at time of travel) and 4 accompanying teachers will travel alongside Imperial War Museum staff to Berlin and Leipzig, Germany. The visit will explore the impact of the fall of the Berlin Wall from a German perspective, in this the 20th anniversary year, and look also at the roots and history of the Cold War. As part of their prize, the winning group will produce a short documentary to be screened at the launch of TPYF’s Cold War-focussed online exhibition in November 2009, and as part of the public programme at the Imperial War Museum.. This competition is being run in association with the German Embassy, the Goethe Institut, and UK-German Connection.
